New York Divorce Lawyer, Michael Dikman

michael-dikmanQueens and Nassau County divorce lawyer Michael Dikman has concentrated his practice in Matrimonial & Family Law for more than 50 years. He has been the Chairman of the Queens County Bar Association’s Family Law Committee for 38 years. He was the recipient of the Queens County Bar Association’s first Award for Academic Excellence, in recognition of his decades of Family Law writing and lecturing.

Mr. Dikman has held various offices and has been a long-time member of the Board of Managers of both the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and the New York State Bar Association’s Family Law Section. He has delivered annual lectures on the development of the Equitable Distribution Law since its 1980 passage, and has done substantial lecturing and writing in this field of law.

Mr. Dikman was one of only six Family Law practitioners unaffiliated with the legislature, special interest groups, and court administration appointed to former Chief Judge Judith Kaye’s New York State Divorce Commission, which operated from 2004 – 2006. At the time, Judge Kaye was the highest-ranking Judge in the State of New York, presiding over the Court of Appeals.
